The Efreets

“Even a single spark can lead to an inferno,”
-Efreet proverb.

Tall red scaled reptilian people clad in ornate golden armor; the efreets stand out wherever they go. Their lineage dates back to the first hatched child of Tohaka the Sun Dragon and only they remember the full legend about his death and rebirth.

The efreets inhabit an ancient city somewhere on the southern continent, its location is kept as a strictly guarded secret from outsiders, lest they are invaded and have their history and artefacts taken from them. Their society resembles that of the ancient lizardmen of old and is centered around remembering their heritage and draconic gods.

The efreet still are in possession of a large amount of ancient artefacts and spells from the old world; it is said that in the dark age a group of efreet conjured up a small sun and threw it at a demonic horde instantly destroying all of them and leaving a crater the size of a small town. There is also word among human explorers that the efreet possess a golden alloy that is “at least two times as strong as the best dwarven steel!”. While it is true that the efreet have such a metal, they -much to the disappointment of those explorers should they ever find out- no longer know how to forge it and are only left with relics of times long past…

The efreets (at least I think that that is the correct plural) have arrived!

To be quite honest, these fiery reptiles have basically nothing to do with the flaming demons from Islammic mythology, I just thought the name sounded rad. (And they are both related to fire I guess.)

Next up will be...

The orcs!

I'm not sure if I'm gonna call them orcs in the end though, as they deviate a little from the "orc standard", but they should fill the same roll that orcs normally fill.
