ORCS!

“FORWARDS! TOWARDS WHERE DREAMS GUIDE US!,”
-Maanaren, orcish seer.

The orcs are a mysterious race that inhabit the mountains at the top of the world. Though they appear animalistic with their ram-like horns and hairy bovine legs, the orcs are more than meets the eye.

Orcs have a tribal way of life living of hunting and gathering, though agriculture is sometimes practiced in the more southern tribes. Each tribe is ruled by a seer, who through a mystical attunement can access the dreamscape of Tohaka’s second child and interpret visons seen there. It is not often that something significant arises out of these visions though, but when it does it usually marks the start of “great conquest” in which multiple tribes band together to chase some unknown query. Most orc seers believe that these conquests lead them closer to the resting place of the dragon they draw their visions from, but so far they haven’t really found anything.

Despite their occasional bloodlust, the orcs manage to coexist with other inhabitants of the northern lands, as most dwarves know to stay out of orcish territory and humans have learned to not settle further north. A few orcish tribes have attempted to establish direct contact with another species, but the dwarves remain uninterested in dealing with “the damn tall savages” and humans -as always- are distrusting.

It is said that the only human to openly deal with orcs was the legendary wizard Aesiroth. According to the story a band of orcs saved him from a wyvern attack while wandering the northern lands, in return he gifted the orcs arcane runes to enhance their weapons with.  To this day there is still a tribe of orcs out there that bear magical glyphs on their axes and shields. Some go even further and say that Aesiroth still lives among the orcs to this day; as this tale is indeed one of his last.

The orcs are coming! The orcs are coming!

Finally settled on a concept that I like.

Next up are...

err...

No idea actually!

Might be demons, might be mermen...

Who knows?
